چکیده

This paper proposes a harmonization between a product quality model and a software process model used in the industry, CERTICS (a national Brazilian model) and CMMI-DEV (an international model). The focus of this harmonization is on the Competence Area of Continuous Improvement of CERTICS, which addresses the key question of whether the software is the result of Continuous Improvement actions originating in the management of personnel, processes and knowledge to support and enhance their development and technological innovation. The results of the harmonization are examined step by step, as well as including a review of the harmonization, and were assisted by an expert on the CERTICS and CMMI-DEV models. Thus, this paper aims to correlate the structures of the two models to reduce the implementation time and costs, and to stimulate the execution of multi-model implementations in software development. keywords: software engineering; software quality; continuous improvement; CERTICS; CMMI-DEV; harmonization.

Investigation Correspondence between CMMI-DEV and ISO/IEC 15504

CMMI and ISO/IEC 15504 are two main models for software process assessment and improvement. Both models have staged and continuous representations but these are different. Continuous representations of the models propose the different sets of processes (process areas). The differences of staged representations are even more essential. CMMI staged representation is based on the ideas of a classi...

Mapping CMMI Level 2 to Scrum Practices: An Experience Report

CMMI has been adopted advantageously in large companies for improvements in software quality, budget fulfilling, and customer satisfaction. However SPI strategies based on CMMI-DEV require heavy software development processes and large investments in terms of cost and time that medium/small companies do not deal with. The so-called light software development processes, such as Agile Software De...

Implementing Project Management Category Process Areas of CMMI Version 1.3 Using Scrum Practices, And Assets

Software development organizations that rely on Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) to assess and improve their processes have realized that agile approaches can provide improvements as well. CMMI and agile methods can work well together and exploit synergies that have the potential to improve dramatically business performance. The major question is: How to realize the integration of t...

Lessons Learnt in the Implementation of CMMI

CMMI has proven benefits in software process improvement. Typically, organisations that achieve a CMMI level rating improve their performance. However, CMMI implementation is not trivial, in particular for high maturity levels, and not all organisations achieve the expected results. Certain CMMI implementation problems may remain undetected by SCAMPI since only a sample of the organisation is a...

Comparison of Maturity Levels in CMMI-DEV and ISO/IEC 15504

Although a classic staged maturity framework with 5 levels was introduced by W. S. Humphrey back in 1988, its basic ideas remain essentially unchanged and they are still employed in CMMI and other maturity models. ISO/IEC 15504, formerly known as SPICE, has promoted a continuous model for process capability assessment. Not long ago SPICE community recognized the benefits of a staged representat...
